Why do you fret about
What others might think of you
Why do you worry about
What others might think of you
When you are an angel
With a heart of gold
Cos when I'm tired and slow
And when my soul's gone cold
When it's been hollowed out
Just like an empty bowl
When I've seen far too much
That's got me feeling old
You bring sunshine to save my day
You make my troubles all fade to grey (/away)
You've the most wonderful lovely beautiful way
Why do you fret about
What others could say of you
Why do you worry about
What others might say to you
When you are an angel
With a heart of gold
Cos when I'm tired and slow
And when my soul's gone cold
When it's been hollowed out
Just like an empty bowl
When I've seen far too much
That's got me feeling old
You bring sunshine to save my day
You make my troubles all fade to grey (/away)
You've the most wonderful lovely beautiful way
High up above
I turn to look at where you've been
What I see is a giant river
That is clothed in a banquet of green
It's a love that flows
And a love that grows
Bring me the sun, my ray
Just make my troubles all fade to grey
Bring me the sun
Even bring me the rain
But always bring your love
And I'll manage to find my way
Bring me the sun
Even bring me the rain
But always bring your love
And I'll manage to find my way
Bring me the sun
Even bring me the rain
But always bring your love
And I'll manage to find my way
You bring sunshine to save my day
You make my troubles all fade to grey
You've the most wonderful lovely beautiful way
You Bring Sunshine [remix] (5m 23s)
In 2024 I began writing this song for my amazing daughter, Lucy. She has a heart of gold, but so do my lovely wife & two sons :). So, it's dedicated to all of them!
P.S. If your main interest is in how I played it see the You Bring Sunshine (Instrumental) video.
2026 Remixes & Instrumental: The 2025 Original version of this song (below) was just me on my guitar and me singing vocals. I really wanted to see what it might sound like with a larger production, so in Jan 2026 I completed a couple of remixes. Both remixes included my vocals and guitar from the original version, but tightened up a bit. I also created MIDI versions of the guitar parts (to be able to augment them with Amplesound guitars) and added accompaniment with Logic Pro Smart Instruments (edited in places). I've never been keen on my voice so I experimented with Resing to see if I could replace it in places. It did not take me long to decide that for me as an artist I need be 100% authentic and thus in future to again do all my own vocals. I therefore removed that 1st remix (ISRC Audio UK-QCM-26-00001) and replaced it with the 2nd remix (ISRC Audio UK-QCM-26-00004) which uses only my vocals. In addition I created a purely instrumental version (ISRC: Audio UK-QCM-26-00002, Video UK-QCM-26-00003 - shown at top of this page) which uses MIDI driven Amplesound guitars for some general doubling and to carry the vocal lines.
NB: This song was created entirely from my own mind & imagination. No AI was involved.
