miniMIXA in Wall Street Journal article

Posted by Tim Cole on 29th May 2007

Cool article on cell phones and music making by Amol Sharma of the Wall Street Journal. Amol refers to miniMIXA and the Slough Young People’s Center “Mashup” project. It is good to see a major news source pick up on what is happening in this space.

It is also interesting to hear what musicians are others are doing with mobile phones in terms of using them as instruments in their own right. I can’t wait for miniMIXA V3 to be released as it is getting so powerful for performance :)

Vodafone Receiver article

Posted by Tim Cole on 27th July 2006

Put some finishing touches tonight to an article that’s going to be published in Vodafone Receiver (www.receiver.vodafone.com), coming out mid August (now live as of 11th Aug). My text is going to be about the mobile phone being the next electric guitar. Was given a link ages ago by David Toop in something he wrote for Receiver (Walking Through Sound ), so maybe that was what lead to it somehow.
