About
My primary life’s work has been working with my brother on a range of creativity tools for mobile and desktop. From 1990 to 2002 we developed the generative SSEYO Koan Music Engine used by Brian Eno and others (I co-founded SSEYO), and then from 2004-2007 developed the SSEYO miniMIXA (an advanced mobile music mixer), both of which surprisingly (and pleasantly!) won BAFTAs. Since 2007 we have set up a new company, www.intermorphic.com, and we are now continuing our work in this area with a number of new products: the Noatikl generative music engine, and replacement for Koan; the Liptikl cut-up word arranger and lyric generator, and Mixtikl, and music mixer system for mobile through desktop, Mac/iPhone/iPod touch to Windows PC and Mobile.
However, my longstanding passion over the last 35 years has been writing music and playing guitar (and creating artworks for 20 of those). My songwriting activities have really only happened over the last 5 years, and on that front I have had the undisputed pleasure of working on some songs with Igor Dvorkin (a great composer/arranger/producer). My music, songs, artworks can be found at my presonal website www.colartz.com.
Why the blog, which seems old hat these days with Facebook and Twitter? Damn fine question, and I don’t really know the answer to that.

Tim,
I’ve just spent (wasted) half an hour looking for a way to buy miniMIXA. As a businessman, I hate to see sales opportunities wasted, and that’s what’s happening here,
I’d suggest you ask Francis Chang to rethink his website approach, because he’s putting buyers right off, me included, I’m afraid.
Good luck with your product.
Tom.

Hi Tom. Thanks for the comment, and I am sorry to hear about your wasted time. There is currently no way to purchase the miniMIXA software via the Tao website, which is focused on business to business. I am hoping that Tao will find a solution to make the software available for purchase again. As soon as something has been decided as to where it can be purchased from, I will note it in my blog – rest assured! NB: The current V2 version can still be purchased from the imate store I believe (but not yet the upcoming V2 version). Hoping this helps!
